What do you think of BeReal? #shorts

If most of our daily lives were that interesting, there’d be no reason to get on an app in the first place.

I don’t think it’s going anywhere since creators can’t express themselves as much. It doesn’t seem to do anything for the creator economy.

This won’t go anywhere for the same reason Beme didn’t go anywhere. Network effect is crucial for social media platforms to thrive on – and it doesn’t have any. And even if it did, there needs to be enough reason for people to come back on the app – which BeReal doesn’t have either (and neither did Clubhouse and look where they are).

We can hate on Instagram and TikTok and Facebook but truth is, the relationship is a two way thing. They are successful because they gave us what we want – not necessarily what we need.

Honestly, if this were a feature of Instagram instead of it’s own stand alone app I think it would be a pretty cool idea.

This idea was originated years ago in a Gary Vee video … and then Dobrik kinda tried it with Dispo … we will see if enough influencers can hype it up… where their favorite influencers go, the people follow…

my friends and i have had this app for a couple months now and we all love it actually. i like the idea of you only get to post once a day and i like the live emoji thing where you can react with a picture. i don’t think this app will be big for content creators but it’s great for a group of friends who get to see what you’re doing once a day through pictures. i also really like the whole memories idea. like you can see your past be reals but you can’t see anyone else’s. i often find myself looking back at my old be reals to remember what i did that day. i don’t think the app will get huge but i think it will stick around

One of the best tools that i used to keep in contact with friends while living in another country this last year. Amazing app, but I would rather compare it to Messenger than Instagram. It is as if all your friends are in one big group chat updating on their day, but without the big effort it requires to text everyone;)

There have been many attempts to “fix” Instagram by creating a new “better” platform; Take Vero, for instance. It hyped for like two weeks and then just became unimportant again.
Although everyone is complaining about how bad Instagram currently is, I don’t see a shift in society pushing for real change.

I’ve been using it for a month or so, and I’m getting to a point where it notifies me, and I ignore it. It’s great to use it when it notifies you in a decent location, but when you’re sitting at your desk and you’ve already taken photos at your desk, you start to wonder if there’s any point in yet another desk photo.

As a user, it’s boring. As a content creator, there’s no discovery, no way to build an audience, no real point to it… I think it will go the way of Beme.

Why would someone want to show the ‘reality’, the whole concept of social media revolves around showing what you want.
