インスタグラムで人気の柴犬「まる」が出演している、日産自動車のショートムービー「DOG＆DRIVE」の「遠出」編が公開された。まるが車に飛び乗ったり、女の子に笑顔を振りまくなど、さまざまな表情を見せている。
「DOG＆DRIVE」は、獣医監修のもと、犬と車のよりよい関係を考える内容だ。犬の車酔いをテーマにした「顔出し」編、車の振動と犬の関係を描いた「いびき」編も公開されている。
まるのインスタグラムのフォロワー数は現在240万人を突破。この数字は国内では、モデルで女優の水原希子さんやお笑い芸人の渡辺直美さん、タレントの木下優樹菜さん、ローラさんに次ぐ数字で、犬では世界一になるという。推定体重約18キロという、名前の通りのまるまるボディーと、その丸顔から放たれる笑顔が魅力で、モデル犬として雑誌の表紙を飾るほか、三重県の観光大使としても活躍している。
